Closured bulls and buffaloes are chained to a strong pole and they are attacked with a dry animal hyde. The angry animals hit the dry skin with their horns and the crowd enjoys. This festival comes between the period of spring and summer. Among the tribal people of Jharkhand, Bhagta Parab is best known as the worship of Budha Baba. People fast during the day and carry the bathing Pahan the priest, to the tribal mandir called Sarana Mandir. The Pahan sometimes called Laya, gets out of the pond, the devotees make a chain, locking their thighs with each other and come forward to offer their bare chest to Laya for walk over. After worship in the evening, devotees take part in dynamic and vigorous Chhau dance with lots of gymnastic actions and masks. The next day is full of primitive sports of bravery. The devotees pierce hooks on skin and get tied at one end of a long horizontal wooden pole, which is hanging on the top of a vertical Shal wood pole. The height goes up to 40 feet. The other end of the pole which is connected with a rope, pulled around the pole by the people and the tied devotee display the breath-taking dance in the sky. This festivals is more popular in the Tamar region of Jharkhand.

Karma (Karam) festival is celebrated by the Oraon, Baiga, Binjhwari and Majhwar tribes of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.This festival is falls in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada.Karma Festival is a religious festival which calls for a huge celebration.

Karma Festival is celebrated in the month of August and is related with fertility by some tribes. Some other tribes also observe the festival as the rainy season ends.

On this day people go in the forest to collect fruits and flowers, and they worship Karma Devta,a goddess who is represented with a branch of karam tree . Important thing of this festival is the cutting of three branches of the ‘karam’ tree,it on a dancing ground called ‘akhara’.These branches are called ‘Karam Raja’. Use these branches in ceremonial dance, called Karma Dance.

After the dance tribal chief narrates the significance of this ritual and the legends of Karam Devi, who is believed to be the goddess of wealth and children. Then, they sing and dance whole night.

On the next day branches are garlanded and Offerings of flowers, rice and curd.Red colored baskets filled with grains are placed before the branches. Barley seedlings are distributed among the young people, who wear it on their heads. Branches are worshipped and their blessings sought.

The festival of Karma, also known to be a religious festival, calls for huge celebration among the tribals of Jharkhand. On the day of this festival devotees keep fast of complete 24 hours. The cultural performances are observed keeping a branch of a Sal tree in the middle of an open ground.
